A Radiohead Concert, Olive Bread, an Obama Sighting, a Blueberry Mouth, a Soccer Game, and Other Randomities

A few pics of recent events that Michael and I either partook in or witnessed (or both):

On the way to the Radiohead concert. Storm up ahead.

Chilling before the band got on.

The minute the main act got on stage, it began to rain.

The weather has been unbelievably cold during the month of July here. It was actually 55F here one day. Jacket weather in July? Ugh! But finally the weather got better again, 80ish and sunny. Just as I'm getting ready to leave. Great.

The building that houses the Water Works agency in Berlin.

At Olympia Stadion, a massive concrete stadium built under the Nazi Regime for the 1936 Olympics in Germany (yes, Hitler came here.) It really is that ugly.

Hertha BSC (Berliner Sport Club) vs Liverpool FC.

At a "Seefest" (Lake Festival) in Röbel, 2.5 hours northwest of Berlin.
Wurst is a German hotdog-sausage thingee. We also went to a indoor pool here that had a pretty awesome spiral tube slide that Michi, his mom and me went down about 20 times each. We even slid down tobaggon style!

This monstrous contraption is a Gulasch-cannon.

Purty houses.

Another one of those motorcycles-with-side-car.

Hey! They got Calandra's too!

And an Etna pizzeria!

By the harbor.

Michi being Michi.

Baking Olive-Onion-Thyme Bread.

The finished product. Which was delicious.

Homemade smoothies.

After eating Blueberry ice cream (yes it was vegan too.)

This last video was just taken about 15 minutes ago-- Obama just arrived in Berlin and was driven from the airport to his hotel (passing through our street) If you look closely, he's in the front passenger side of the second white SUV:

(Sorry, can't figure out how to embed the video this time around.)

We're going to see his speech tonight at the Siegessäule, (aka the Victory Column), which is also the name of Berlin's gay magazine. I'll let you think about that one. Michi's more excited about it than I am, and while I'm content to see a potential President speak live, I don't just get all excited about politicians at all. They all promise things that they can't accomplish while in office, understandably so, mostly because they don't know what's about to smack them in the face once they do get into office, I think. So I'm actually not a crazy Obama-freak like many Americans and others around the world but I will be voting for him.
